Welcome to Nicola Roberts Media, your new resource dedicated to the English singer and songwriter Nicola Roberts. You may know Nicola from Girls Aloud! She has written songs for Cheryl & Little Mix and also won The Masked Singer in February 2020. It is my aim to bring you all the latest news, photos, information and much more on Nicola’s career. I hope you enjoy your stay!
Nicola appeared at Tuning In North live talk on the 29th March. They have kindly uploaded her interview to youtube.
Nicola talked about how important radio was to the success of the band, especially in the early days. She shared stories of the tactics they used to get stations supporting “the girls” while they competed on ITV’s Popstars: The Rivals, and the excitement they felt on hearing their single “Sound of the Underground” on the radio for the first time.
Some pictures from the event are in the gallery below:
Last night, we saw Nicola step into her winning Masked Singer costume again to sing with finalist RoboBunny (who was revealed as Mark Feehily from Westlife). Nicola fangirled as she knew straight away who she was duetting with!
Mark came third in the show, but their duet was incredible. Check it out above!
Nicola has taken part in a new NHS mental health campaign.
In the above video, she can be seen reciting lyrics from The Beatles 1964 single ‘Help’.
Nicola spoke about her mental health and how therapy saved her:
“I’m someone that has benefited hugely from talking therapy.
“I think there is such a taboo around it that people almost feel like they’ve failed or they weren’t strong enough to figure out a situation by themselves. But if you’re feeling like you can’t see the wood for the trees or light at the end of the tunnel, it’s imperative to reach out because you can’t always do it alone.”
“It’s about saying this is what is happening to me, it’s not my fault, but my happiness matters and I’m going to put my hand up and say I need some help. I wouldn’t be where I am now without therapy.”
‘The Sweat’ in Navy and Ecru goes live at the stroke of midnight tonight! In collaboration with the beautiful illustrator Bryony Fripp. May the lyrics wrapped around your body as you wear this sweat remind you of your grace, determination and love for yourself. pic.twitter.com/SVmGXSguyy
